I offer manuscript consultation, one-on-one editing sessions, and occasional private workshops. Please use the contact form to reach out if you are interested in finding out more.

Ways to work with me: I offer several models and am open to other offerings if you have an idea that may work better for you. Just reach out.

  • Hourly rate coaching sessions: We can use this time to check in on your progress, generate new material, and get feedback on new pages. These can also be accountability sessions to reach goals with check ins before and after. $125/hr

  • First 40-60 pages: I will look at the beginning of your manuscript in progress and give you a detailed letter on what I see in the work, what your creative strengths are, where I see openings, what needs some attention, and how to continue shaping your book. We will also zoom for 30 minutes to discuss the feedback. This does not include line editing. $400

  • Manuscript review: If you have a manuscript that you have revised once on your own, I offer direct critical feedback helping you shape and tell the story you want to tell. I work well with creative nonfiction writers who write essays or memoir, or writers writing literary fiction. I do not offer line editing. You will get a substantial letter addressing the strength, highlights, themes, threads, and insights I see in your work as well as the spaces where I want to know more and where I see opportunities or openings for you to write more deeply into. The letter will have notes on each chapter or essay. I will look at structure and form and offer ideas for how I see the puzzle of your narrative coming together. We will also zoom for to discuss the feedback. $1200 for up to 50,000 words

    TESTIMONIALS:

“Amra's teaching is both liberating and grounding, which is a special combination. I loved the embodiment of her approach, bringing in parts work, meditation and really accessible activities that meant I could (somewhat) bypass my critical mind and write from the places that secretly want to be heard. She is encouraging and allows space for feedback and difference of opinion, which I think is vital to a good class. The piece I started on our course has since developed into a few different versions, one of which is being published next month. Treat yourself to a session with her!” —Ione Maria Rojas

"I loved Amra's Microchimerism class. It offered up an abundance of curiosities and wonder, a kaleidoscopic lens to view the world of our bodies and relationship to place. Ever since her class, I keep returning to my notes and gleaning new inspiration, new vantage points from which to approach storytelling. Amra is a warm, gentle and inviting presence. She curated a delightfully eclectic assortment of material and held space for us to explore it on our own terms, offering thoughtful feedback on everything we shared. A rich and beautiful experience!"- Talia Weisz
